“If you have to pick up your kids from school… you might not be picking up your kids if your vehicle gets swept away,” warns Captain Dave Wilson of Daisy Mountain Fire Department.
The members of DMFD have been busy with accidents and rescues over the past 24 hours as much of Arizona receives a dumping of rain. The area is still under a flash flood warning as of this writing, so Wilson warns drivers to use their best instincts, find alternative routes, plan ahead, be early and don’t cross flooded roadways.
For areas of New River and Desert Hills where there is only one way in and out and the road is known to flood, “Don’t risk it,” Wilson told Anthem News. Postpone your trip to the grocery. Arrange for someone else to pick up your kids.
